City Park is a 50 Acre mixed use facility consisting of a 20 screen theater, three story office building with structured parking, hotel, two free-standing restaurants, storage facility and commercial strip mall.
This property was a large fill site, formerly known as the Aptakisic sand and gravel pit. The soils on the site were variable, requiring several stabilization techniques (surcharging, dynamic compaction and bridging).
The majority of the property was below the 100-year flood plain and required a letter of map amendment from FEMA to remove it from the flood plain.
The property is adjacent to both a county and state highway. The county limits only one access, which required a full signalized intersection with additional turn lanes. Full access to Milwaukee Avenue required similar design, but construction has been posponed for the development of the property to the north.
